Do you sell tokens?
No. spec-editor runs on your machines and uses your own model subscription or API key. We do not sit between you and your model provider, and we do not resell model usage.
What do I need besides the subscription?
Access to a model you pay for yourself, either a Claude Code subscription or an API key (through LiteLLM), or a local model through Ollama. You also need the open core, which is free and installs from GitHub.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals. The subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 7 days of your first payment, on request by e-mail. Renewals are not refunded. The refund policy has the details.
What counts as a seat?
One named person who uses Pro. The same person can use it on several machines. A seat cannot be shared between people, but you can move it to someone else when the first person leaves.
What counts as a repository?
A separate git repository that holds a spec-editor model. Solo covers up to five. Team and Studio have no fixed limit, within fair use for your own team's projects.
Is the open core really free?
Yes. It is published on GitHub under Apache-2.0, and that license governs it. Pro is a separate paid plugin.
When can I buy?
Not yet. spec-editor Pro is in early access and self-service purchase is not open. Use Request early access and we will write back when it opens. Prices are early and may change.
Do you see my code?
No. Your code and requirements are not sent to us. Pro runs on your machines. Sharing of anonymous aggregate statistics exists only if you turn it on.
What happens to my model if I stop paying?
Your license for Pro ends with the paid period. Your model files are plain Markdown files in your repository and stay yours, and the open core keeps working with them.
