spec-editor mcp

Start the MCP server for external agents (stdio, HTTP or socket).

MCP is configured in your AI agent, not in spec-editor. Once the server is running, connect your agent with the config below.

Usage

spec-editor mcp [OPTIONS]

Options

Option	Type	Default	Description
--path, -p	path		Path to project directory
--transport	one of stdio, http, socket	stdio	Transport: stdio (default) or http
--port	integer	8001	HTTP port (default: 8001)
--read-only	flag		Register only read-only tools (HTTP only)
--host	text	127.0.0.1	Ignored (always binds to 127.0.0.1)
--socket	text		Unix socket path (for transport=socket)
--supervised	flag		Run as an external process supervisor: keep restarting this same command whenever the server exits asking for it
